Competition of Two-Step Process with Spin-Dependent Interaction in the 14N(p, p')14N(2.31 MeV) Reaction at Ep=21.0 MeV

Angular distributions of differential cross sections and vector analyzing powers of protons exciting the ground state and the first excited state in 14 N are measured at an incident energy of 21.0 MeV. Importance of the (p, d) (d, p) two-step process as well as tensor force is confirmed.
