Quadrupolar Domain Selection by Magnetic Field in DyNi3Ga9

We investigated the structural domain selection by a magnetic field in the ferroquadrupolar ordered phase of the trigonal chiral helimagnet DyNi3Ga9 with TN = 10 K, which exhibits a trigonal-to-monoclinic structural transition at \(T''_{\text{N}} = 8.5\) K. The domain selection becomes more significant below the spin-flop transition temperature at Tsf = 5 K, highlighting the increasing influence of anisotropy caused by the ordered quadrupole at low temperatures.
