Orbital-lattice coupled excitations are examined in eg orbital degenerate systems such as LaMnO3 and KCuF3. Both the local vibronic excitations and the superexchange-type inter-site interactions are dealt with on an equal footing. We adopt the generalized spin-wave approximation where local vibronic states are fully taken into account. Orbital exitation spectra are examined as functions of the Jahn–Teller coupling and anharmonic potential of the lattice vibrations.
